Software Product Manager

Start-up - Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area

Job Description

My client is seeking a Product Manager who has the drive, talent, and experience to join the product management team and make a significant contribution to our company. They are an early-stage fast moving company. They highly prize hard work, initiative, out-of-the-box thinking, creativity, resourcefulness, and speed of execution. The position reports to the Vice President of Research and Development. It involves close collaboration with their development team, executives, customers, and partners. Responsibilities include product roadmap definition, requirements gathering and definition, product design, and all aspects of product lifecycle management (beta, release, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

- Product roadmap - Define the product strategy and roadmap that ensures the product support the companys overall goals.
- Requirements definition - Work with external and internal stakeholders to understand the customer needs and priorities to improve the product, the customer experience, and the company revenue.
- Workflow/UI Definition - Lead the design of innovative ground breaking GUI for several platforms including desktop and mobile environments.
- Sprint development - Work very closely with the development team to ensure timely development of the prioritized product features to ensure the product is continuously improving in the right direction and to quickly respond to the changing environment.
- Domain Knowledge - Become and expert with respect to the competition, partners, and customers.
- Beta Program Management - Manage the beta and pilot programs with early-stage versions of the products.
- Product Demos - Perform product demos for customers, partners, analysts, investors, etc.

Required experience and knowledge

- 4-6 years of experience as a product manager or related industry disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, as well as a solid grasp of software and web product usability.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related area of study (MBA Preferred)
- Technical background - ability to understand new technologies as well as knowledge of existing ones. Programming background is a big plus.
- Experience in Agile software development.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Develop?access module software including new features and maintenance and enhancement of existing products. Analyze requirements. Perform feasibility studies of needed software development. Perform high-level software design. Perform low-level design and implementation of new modules and enhancements to existing software. Conduct and participate in design reviews and code reviews. Plan and perform unit and system level testing of implemented software modules and enhancements using lab test equipment as needed. Organize and coordinate development activities within schedule and product constraints. Candidates must have strengths in?OOD with strong C++ skills. Experience with embedded software design, implementation and debugging ranging from the driver to the application level including interprocess communication and multi-threading techniques. Experience in a multi-team shared programming environment using a version control system and collaborative review processes. Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with others.?Must be motivated and able to learn new technologies quickly. Prefer previous experience with the development of telecommunication and networking products and knowledge of Ethernet switching, networking protocols, FTTx, T1/T3, SNMP, and CLI. 5-10 years exp. DESIGN ENGINEER

Design, implement and debug software solutions for?GPON OLT products.? This includes but is not limited to the following: OMCI enhancements for supporting diverse types of ONTs, driver development, application development, system software architecture, software test development and customer assistance.?Candidates?must be motivated and able to learn new technologies quickly. Previous experience with BPON and/or GPON is a significant plus, especially with OMCI design and implementation. Excellent applicants will have knowledge of object oriented design and programming techniques, be familiar with Ethernet and networking protocols, and have experience with software design, implementation and debugging ranging from the driver/interrupt level up to the application level including interprocess communication and multi-threading techniques. 10 years experience.
